Housing Trust of Rutland County is honored to have been awarded a 2024 Community Impact Grant from United Way of Rutland County. These grant funds will go towards our Resident Services Program.  The Resident Services Program began in 2023 with funding through the Bowse Health Trust.

This program has a dedicated staff member (Resident Services Coordinator) who is available to meet and assist our residents to ensure that they remain successfully housed. The Resident Services Coordinator offers support in filling out paperwork, making referrals to community resources or sometimes, is just an ear to listen.

One of the main goals of this program is to ensure that when someone becomes a resident at a Housing Trust property, they remain adequality housed as one way to help individuals achieve optimal health. Since the program’s inception those participating in the program have had decreased lease violations, increased access to valuable community services and brought their rent payments current.

The current housing crisis has significant implications for the health and well-being of individuals and families, especially marginalized groups. Housing is a major pathway through which health disparities emerge and are sustained over time. These disparities can be the cost, quality, and stability of housing, as well as neighborhoods where the housing is located. The Housing Trust is working to ensure that all residents have an opportunity to overcome these disparities through offering a supportive, stable place to call home.
