Joint statement from Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition

The Vermont Housing and Conservation Coalition (in support of Vermont Housing and Conservation Board) asked me to testify in front of the General and House Committee of the representatives at the Statehouse on February 17th. There were Executive Directors of housing organizations from all over the state in committee meetings all day doing the same thing – touting the importance of investment in affordable housing – particularly through the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, our largest funder. The intent was to show our delegation the impact of investment that VHCB has had throughout the state. I showcased Lincoln Place, our newest project that not only includes 19 units of affordable housing but also partnerships with supportive service organizations to ensure success of the residents. Advocacy for housing at the statehouse is critical as we try to do our part to address the housing crisis in our state and in our region.
